چکیده

Abstract The period 1965–2000 saw a sustained increase in research and publications on fluvial processes landforms. trend towards generalization and/or mechanistic understanding, rather than site-specific history, continued. Research was multidisciplinary, with important contributions from hydraulic engineers, geologists physical geographers experimental theoretical approaches as well geomorphological sedimentological fieldwork. Rapidly increasing computer power underpinned new measurement methods, greatly increased the scope of data analysis numerical modelling. There were major advances understanding interaction river process form at reach scale, growing recognition differences between sand-bed coarse-bed rivers. Field studies outside Europe North America led to greater awareness diversity planforms depositional Conceptual models how rivers respond natural or anthropogenic change boundary conditions different timescales refined, taking advantage response land-use change, floods volcanic eruptions. dating sediments allowed appreciation fluctuations incidence extreme driving events over centuries thousands years. Towards end this period, bedrock began take off.

Geological Relationships between Hydrated Minerals and Fluvial Landforms in Tyrrhena Terra

Introduction: Tyrrhena Terra is located in cratered and dissected Noachian terrains in the southern hemisphere [1] south of Isidia Planitia and north of Hellas basin. Tyrrhena Terra contains both highlands and a series of intercrater plains. In this region, many outcrops of phyllosilicates are observed by OMEGA spectrometer on many craters walls or ejecta [2, 3]. Several plains in Tyrrhena Terr...

MRO’s HiRISE COVERAGE OF FLUVIAL LANDFORMS ON MARS DURING ITS PRIMARY

Introduction: The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment completed its primary science phase (lasting one Mars year) in November 2008. By the end of the primary science phase, the HiRISE camera completed 9549 observations for a total of approximately 8 Terabytes of data. These observations cover an area close to 938,000 km 2 or approximately 0.6% of the surface...

Fluvial fan deltas: Linking channel processes with large-scale morphodynamics

[1] Alluvial fan deltas are built by aggrading and avulsing river channels. A numerical model of flow and sediment transport in channels is combined with a condition for channel avulsion to describe evolution of the fan surface. The model combines elements of two recent approaches: (1) diffusional models of depositional basin filling, which describe the evolution of overall morphology, and (2) ...
